General Information

In June 2017 we began on an exciting next step for our organization. In April 2016, during the construction of Phase II of the Grove, the Board of County Commissioners voted to redirect the final phase of the project, Phase III, to Teton Habitat.  Through this project we aim to:

  • Reduce costs by redesigning Phase III to create simpler homes with smaller square footage and by utilizing volunteer labor for home builds
  • Build one, four-unit building, approximately every eight months
  • Ensure an economically diverse workforce can call Jackson home through increased housing options
The Grove, located behind the Teton County Library at 825 W. Snow King Avenue will provide 24 condos for homeownership for category 1 income earners.

In June 2017, construction of 24 condos for homeownership for category 1 income earners began. Located at 825 W. Snow King Avenue this project will increase Teton County’s affordable housing stock in the heart of Jackson, providing easy access to amenities, transportation, schools and nearly all major employers.  Category 1 income earners are defined by the Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority as individuals earning 80% or below the Area Median Income (AMI) annually of Teton County.

These 24 units will consist of 1,200 square foot, 3-bedroom homes for category 1 individuals and families. The expected monthly mortgage payment will range from $600-$1000. The average rental for a 3-bedroom condo in Teton County is $2,500. A Habitat home is a stabilizing force for a family in need, and enables strength in members of our diverse community.

We are proud to continue to be the only organization providing homes solely for category 1 income earners, Teton County’s largest percentage of income earners. Built with the Habitat model these homes will be built mainly with volunteer labor using sustainable and reasonable material, much of which is provided in-kind by our generous sponsors.
