Teton Habitat Receives $5,000 Grant from Bank of the West

[Jackson, WY] [December 5th, 2017]— Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area (Teton Habitat) is pleased to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from Bank of the West.

The grant will support Teton Habitat’s current home building project, The Grove, Phase III, which began in June 2017. Stage One of the project will complete the first eight of twenty four homes. New residents will benefit from the 1200 sq. ft., 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom condominiums in the heart of Jackson, Wyoming.

“Bank of the West is proud to support Teton Habitat and develop housing solutions in the Greater Teton Area, and I’m thrilled the Bank’s investment will directly benefit this vibrant community,” said Olga Salmina, Branch Manager of Bank of the West of Jackson.

Ms. Salmina is a volunteer with Teton Habitat and served on the family selection committee that helped to select the partner homeowners of The Grove’s first eight homes.

“We are so glad to have a significant relationship with one of our local businesses,” said Kendra Heimbuck, Teton Habitat Executive Director.  “This grant provides valuable fiscal support for the project and also extends the volunteer support from Olga and the Bank of the West team.”

About Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area

Habitat builds homes in partnership with hardworking families in the Greater Teton Area and helps build stronger families and neighborhoods through homeowner education and by partnering with donors and volunteers to construct decent and affordable homes.  Homes are sold at no profit to pre-selected partner families and individuals with an interest-free loan to ensure affordable monthly payments.  Homeowners are required to contribute at least 500 hours of “sweat equity”, save for closing costs, and take a series of homeowner education classes in order to purchase the home.  Habitat also runs the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which sells donated building supplies, home furnishings, and appliances to help fund Habitat’s program.
