Teton Habitat’s Grove Project Gets a Boost from Blitz Build
Teton Habitat hosted this week our first “Blitz Build” at The Grove, in partnership with local, professional builders. Teton Heritage Builders, New West Building Company, Bell Construction and GE Johnson Construction each donated a crew of professional framing carpenters for a day to show their support for Teton Habitat and affordable housing.
Teton Habitat’s typical volunteer labor force has not been able to work at the jobsite due to the precautions around COVID-19. Through the generous support of these builders, the construction of the final eight homes took a huge step forward.
“Blitz Build has contributed to a much needed boost in construction progress. There was a point in time when we thought we were going to have to cancel this awesome event. Luckily, we were able to safely move forward with our plans and all of our partners were still on board,” says Community Engagement Manager, Elizabeth Ferguson.
Altogether, the companies are contributing over $20,000 of in-kind labor.
“Many, many thanks to our Blitz Build partners, “added Executive Director, Kris Greenville. “These builders were immediately supportive of the concept when approached late last year. Despite all the uncertainty around the pandemic, they kept Teton Habitat on their schedules. The speed and quality of their work is amazing to watch.”
