Project Information

In April 2016, during the construction of Phase II of the Grove, the Board of County Commissioners voted to redirect the final phase of the project to Teton Habitat.  The Grove, Phase III will provide 24 homeownership opportunities for Category 1 members of Jackson’s workforce.  Through this project, Habitat aims to:

• Reduce costs by redesigning Phase III to create simpler homes with smaller square footage and by utilizing volunteer labor for home builds
• Build two, four-unit buildings, approximately every 16 months
• Ensure an economically diverse workforce can call Jackson home through increased housing options

Working with the design team listed above, the project was reworked to meet the goals of decreasing square footage, reducing the development budget and increasing volunteer friendliness of construction.  Through redesign efforts, the development budget for Phase III was reduced by nearly $2 million, with budgeted construction costs under $180/square foot.  The redesign of the project and amendment of the Final Development Plan with the Town of Jackson was completed between November 2016 and April 2017. Building permits were approved in May 2017, and construction on the first 8 of 24 condos began in June 2017.

Each unit at The Grove, Phase III will be 1,200 square feet with 3-bedrooms and 2-bathrooms. The expected monthly housing payments (including mortgage and HOA dues) will range from $800-$1100, depending on the financial ability of the Habitat Homeowners.
