The construction crew hit their stride in October. With the help of our volunteers, we hope to keep the momentum going in November despite the chilly weather and the holiday.
In early October, insulation was installed, and inspections were passed in buildings 445 and 447. Drywall installation began mid-October and makes a world of difference – turning the space from a structure into a house. Insulation and drywall also mean that our volunteers will have a warm place to work during the winter. We’ll heat each to keep our volunteers toasty as they install the doors, floors, trim, and cabinets.
We also started construction on two more buildings – 455 and 465. The foundation and footers have been poured. Decking for the first floor is down and framing for the walls is going up fast. We plan to put a roof on these buildings in November.

El equipo de construcción tomó su ritmo en octubre. Con la ayuda de nuestros voluntarios, esperamos mantener el impulso en noviembre a pesar del clima frío y las festividades.
A principios de octubre, se instaló aislamiento y se pasaron las inspecciones en los edificios 445 y 447. La instalación de paneles de yeso comenzó a mediados de octubre y marca una gran diferencia, convirtiendo el espacio en una vivienda. El aislamiento y los paneles de yeso también significan que nuestros voluntarios tendrán un lugar cálido para trabajar durante el invierno. Calentaremos cada edificio uno para mantener a nuestros voluntarios calentitos mientras instalan las puertas, suelos, molduras y gabinetes.
También comenzamos la construcción en otros dos edificios: el 455 y el 465. Se ha vertido la cimentación y los cimientos. La cubierta del primer piso está instalada y la estructura de las paredes se está levantando rápidamente. Planeamos poner el techo en estos edificios en noviembre.
