ReStore's Guide to a Greener New Year

As we usher in the New Year, many of us are contemplating resolutions to improve our lives and the world around us. This year, why not make a resolution that not only benefits you but also contributes to a healthier planet? Consider embracing the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling, through the ReStore.

We believe in the power of secondhand shopping to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable living. Here's how you can make a difference in 2024:

1. Reduce: Declutter Responsibly

Start your year by decluttering your living space. Instead of discarding unwanted items, consider donating them at the ReStore. By doing so, you contribute to a circular economy, where goods are reused rather than prematurely sent to landfills. Each year, the ReStore helps divert over 400,000 pounds of waste. You can help contribute to this number.

2. Reuse: Embrace the Thrill of Secondhand Finds

Make it a resolution to explore the aisles of the ReStore to find hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Whether it's light fixtures, furniture, electronics, or hardware, choosing secondhand not only saves money but also reduces the demand for new production. Each purchase made at the ReStore is a step towards minimizing the environmental footprint associated with manufacturing and transportation.

3. Recycle: Opt for Sustainable Packaging

When making purchases, consider the packaging materials used. At the ReStore, we prioritize sustainability by opting for eco-friendly packaging. By supporting businesses that make conscious packaging choices, you contribute to waste reduction and promote responsible practices.

4. Educate and Inspire Others

Spread the word about the benefits of secondhand shopping and sustainable living. Encourage your friends, family, and community members to join the movement. By sharing your experiences and the positive impact of secondhand choices, you become a catalyst for change and contribute to a more eco-conscious community.
