With Gratitude and Thanks: Teton Habitat Awarded $15,000,000 Challenge Gift from the Hughes Charitable Foundation

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area is thrilled to announce a transformative $15,000,000 challenge gift from the Hughes Charitable Foundation. This generous contribution marks a monumental step forward in our mission to provide safe and affordable

housing for the working families in need across our community.

Following the leadership demonstrated by the Board of County Commissioners with the approval of the Land Development Regulations for Northern South Park, the Hughes Charitable Foundation made this extraordinary commitment that underscores their dedication to addressing housing shortages. Teton Habitat provides homeownership opportunities for those making 30%-80% of Area Median Income. Forty-three percent of families in Teton County could qualify for a Habitat home.

Kris Greenville, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area, expressed gratitude for the Hughes Charitable Foundation's generous support. "This remarkable support will empower Teton Habitat to significantly expand our operations and impact, offering the opportunity for many more families to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. With the Hughes Charitable Foundation's partnership and the support from others in our community, we will make good on our commitment to our mission and our community to build truly affordable

housing in Northern South Park.”

"The Hughes Charitable Foundation's leadership sets a powerful example of philanthropy in action. Their generosity has already inspired others to join us in our mission to address the urgent need for affordable housing and build a brighter future for families in the Greater Teton Area. Already yesterday, we have received commitments for another half a million dollars,” said Patty Lummis, Habitat Director and Advancement Committee Chair.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Hughes Charitable Foundation for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to creating a world where everyone has a decent place to call home.
