Construction Lead Job Description
Working in coordination with the Construction Manager, the Construction Lead is responsible for day-to-day construction activities on Teton Habitat’s affordable housing projects. We are currently constructing 18 townhomes phased over the next three and a half years.
This position includes a competitive hourly wage, full health benefits including vision and dental, generous time off, a retirement plan, and bonus structure. Housing is available.
Primary responsibilities of this position are:
• Overall participation in current and pending construction activities,
• Preparation/coordination to receive volunteers on-site
• Preparation/coordination to receive sub-contractors on-site
• Lead Habitat construction volunteers through tasks as necessary on specific volunteer days.
• Follow safety measures in accordance with industry-recognized best practices
• Adhere to construction timelines to ensure efficient and successful completion of projects on or ahead of schedule.
Other duties include:
• Assist in monitoring site compliance with approved safety protocols
• Maintain site organization and orderliness
• Prepare for each work day with appropriately sized crews, tools and materials
• Participation in regular staff and construction committee meetings
• Maintain construction standards in accordance with industry-approved protocols
• Maintain current Competent Person safety qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have:
Two years of construction experience; a clear understanding of the mission of Habitat for Humanity; a demonstrated ability to understand and perform a variety of construction-related tasks; an interest and willingness to instruct volunteers in relevant aspects of the construction trade; an ability to adapt, problem-solve and trouble-shoot.
Housing – Teton Habitat maintains a home with rooms available for rent well below local market rates. This is a co-ed living situation.
